Clinicians learn visual strategies that help clients of any age handle emotional overwhelm. Built on trauma-informed care and neurodivergent-affirming practice, the workshop provides tools that make abstract feelings visible, understandable and actionable. Participants practice guiding clients to name, map and plan around emotional states using the Window of Tolerance, the SUDs scale and Zones of Regulation. Collaborative, strengths-based interventions build client insight and independence, and they are especially useful for clients with trauma histories, executive functioning challenges or trouble finding words for emotions.

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to

  • Teach clients to name, map, and visualize emotional states
  • Use visual mapping tools to co-create coping plans for moments of distress
  • Apply step-by-step tools, including the Window of Tolerance, SUDs scale, and Zones of Regulation
