This course builds basic skills for working with the inner parts of a client. It draws on Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ego State Therapy and related parts-based models to show how a client’s inner life is made up of separate subpersonalities, each holding its own feelings, beliefs and protective job. You will learn to help clients notice, understand and engage with their inner system using curiosity and compassion, which deepens self-awareness and healing.
Therapists learn through theory, hands-on practice and case discussion how to recognize protective parts, work with wounded ones and encourage integration instead of inner conflict. The training highlights how to earn the trust of parts, avoid common therapeutic missteps and apply trauma-informed interventions. For clinicians new to parts work and those polishing their skills alike, it teaches core techniques for helping clients reach inner harmony and self-leadership.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to
- Identify the different roles and responsibilities of a client’s inner parts
- Apply the concept of parts work to different mental health disorders
