Syllabus:

Introduction

  • Overview of course purpose, structure, and interactive format

  • Framing ADHD assessment and treatment through a neurodiversity-affirming lens

Objective #1: Analyze Evidence-Based ADHD Treatment Modalities

  • Review current medical, behavioral, and psychosocial ADHD treatment approaches

  • Examine strengths and limitations of symptom-focused models

  • Consider treatment fit across developmental stages and clinical settings

  • Discuss equity, access, and contextual considerations in treatment planning

Objective #2: Apply Integrative and Strengths-Based Treatment Strategies

  • Combine medical, behavioral, and lifestyle interventions to support whole-person care

  • Shift from deficit-based frameworks toward strengths, capacity, and potential

  • Integrate real-world strategies that support sustainability and client engagement

  • Explore treatment adaptations for children, adolescents, and adults

Objective #3: Evaluate Treatment Effectiveness and Client Progress

  • Use clinical judgment alongside emerging research to assess outcomes

  • Apply person-in-environment perspectives to track meaningful change

  • Identify indicators of progress beyond symptom reduction
