The training looks at the lasting effects of parentification on emotional development, relationships and identity. It sorts parentification into emotional, instrumental and destructive types and traces long-term consequences such as guilt, hyper-independence and difficulty with boundaries. Learn therapeutic approaches to help clients recognize, work through and heal from the burden of being a caregiver too soon, growing self-compassion and a reclaimed sense of self. Education, hands-on exercises and practical interventions prepare you to help clients leave old survival roles behind and build healthier, more satisfying relationships.
