This workshop explores how artificial intelligence (AI) can be integrated into mental health practices to improve client engagement and accountability. The session covers ethical considerations and practical ways to use AI tools to complement therapeutic work while maintaining a human-centered approach.

- Definition and examples of AI tools
- Benefits and limitations of AI in mental health.
- Challenges of integrating AI into social work and counseling practices
Objective 2: Apply Ethical Standards When Incorporating AI
- Privacy and confidentiality: Ensuring secure communication and anonymized data
- Informed consent: Explaining AI’s role, limitations, and data use to clients
- Addressing bias: Using diverse datasets, regular audits, and ensuring transparency
in AI development
Objective 3: Enhance Client Engagement Using AI Tools
- Digital journaling apps
- Interactive tools for goal setting and emotional support
- Personalized interventions tailored to client preferences and cultural competence
Objective 4: Evaluate Accountability Mechanisms Supported by AI

Social workers completing this course receive 2 Ethics asynchronous continuing education credits.
