Empathy is at the heart of effective therapy, yet sustained empathic engagement can leave clinicians vulnerable to compassion fatigue, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. This webinar offers therapists evidence-based strategies to maintain deep empathy for clients while safeguarding their own emotional health. Drawing from acceptance-based, mindfulness, and resilience-building approaches, participants will learn how to balance connection with self-care, recognize early signs of compassion fatigue, and cultivate sustainable therapeutic presence without sacrificing personal wellbeing.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to
- Define compassion fatigue and distinguish it from burnout and vicarious trauma within clinical work.
- Identify early warning signs and personal risk factors for compassion fatigue.
- Apply mindfulness, boundary-setting, and self compassion strategies to sustain empathy while preserving emotional resilience.
