This presentation gives therapists a thorough grasp of relational trauma and practical strategies for supporting clients as they heal. Neglect, emotional abuse and betrayal are relational traumas that often damage a person’s capacity for safe, trusting connection, leaving lasting emotional and psychological effects.

Drawing on attachment theory, neuroscience and trauma-informed care, the session looks at the ways relational trauma shapes how clients see themselves, cope and relate to others. Therapists learn to spot signs of relational trauma, including dysregulated emotion, avoidance and difficulty forming secure attachments.

Evidence-based healing approaches are offered, with the therapy relationship as the base for safety and repair. Somatic experiencing, narrative work and mindfulness are introduced to help clients work through trauma, restore trust and build healthier relational patterns.

Case examples and interactive discussion send participants away with insights and tools they can use. Whether you see individuals, couples or families, the presentation supports therapists in nurturing resilience, connection and healing.
